Please come to hear Anthony Flaccavento speak at a Pot Luck Dinner in Newport. Anthony is the Democratic Party candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives 9th Congressional District.   Admission is free but donations are welcome.   Anthony is a proven job creator, having launched and managed enterprises in farming, food and forest products, while helping rebuild local infrastructure and strong downtowns.  He believes in Main Street, not Wall Street and he knows how to get things done.

It has come to the attention of both the Democratic and Republican Parties of Giles County that there have been numerous incidents of vandalism in regard to political party signs.  We, as chairs, of both political parties ask that you be respectful of each other's property. We can agree to disagree on the issues but we ask that you do not destroy political signs of either the Democratic or Republican parties.

9-11 Remembrance and Democracy

On this somber day, we should remember the victims of 9-11.  Osama bin Laden did not just attack our institutions of commerce, military and government but he also attacked democracy.    He is dead  thanks to our president and the military but we must never let those who want to destroy our freedom and democracy prevail.  We must renew our commitment to democracy by becoming informed on the issues and our candidates.
